New Column Will Cover the Economy and the Financial Industry

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bloomberg News Editor in Chief Matthew Winkler today announced that Simon Johnson will join Bloomberg as a monthly columnist covering the economy and the financial industry. Johnson’s first column, “Obama as Comeback Kid Just Needs Weaker Dollar,” debuts today and is on Bloomberg.com at: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-09-29/obama-as-comeback-kid-just-needs-lower-dollar-commentary-by-simon-johnson.html.

Johnson is the Ronald A. Kurtz Professor of Entrepreneurship at MIT Sloan School of Management and a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. He is also a co-founder of BaselineScenario.com and a member of the Congressional Budget Office’s Panel of Economic Advisers.
