NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Peter J Solomon Company (PJSC), a 22-year-old independent investment banking advisory firm, announced today that Craig E. Barnett has joined the firm as a Managing Director. In addition to serving as a strategic advisor to his clients, Mr. Barnett will enhance the firm’s coverage of financial investors and asset managers and be responsible for the continued development of PJSC’s international business.

Mr. Barnett has over twenty five years of experience and has advised clients operating in most major sectors of the global economy in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia. Mr. Barnett began his career at Lehman Brothers where over a ten-year period he had broad experience in mergers and acquisitions and in financings in New York, in London and in Tokyo. Mr. Barnett joined The Blackstone Group in 2004 as a Managing Director, was a senior member of Blackstone’s Advisory Committee and worked with Blackstone’s advisory, restructuring and principal investment groups. He also acted as Blackstone’s liaison with the firm’s international affiliates in Japan and Sweden. Mr. Barnett has also served as a Managing Director of Bear Stearns. Mr. Barnett established a New York and London-based independent strategic advisory boutique in 2001. Mr. Barnett’s clients have included Barney’s, Equinox, Experian, Great Universal Stores, LVMH, Matsushita, McDonald’s, Orix, Reuters and Tommy Hilfiger.

Mr. Barnett, a graduate of the Wharton School, is a native New Yorker and is active in a number of charitable and community organizations.
