Pay Governance LLC Announces National Expansion of Executive Compensation Consulting Practice
Independent Consulting Services Firm Expands Staff and Adds Offices in Major Markets Throughout the U.S.
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Pay Governance LLC, one of the nation’s premier independent compensation consulting firms, announces the expansion of its operations to six major U.S. markets, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, St. Petersburg, Fla., Dallas and St. Louis. Pay Governance offers clients the expertise and resources required for counsel to boards and compensation committees on executive pay issues.
The expansion allows the firm to better serve a wide segment of the nation’s public corporations as they face new disclosure rules and greater regulatory scrutiny of potential conflicts of interest. Companies are increasingly turning to independent consultants who are unencumbered by ties to other business relationships such as the cross-selling of services to management.
“We are proud to offer boards and compensation committees throughout the country access to independent, objective counsel that truly serves the best interest of the company and its shareholders,” said John England, a managing partner of Pay Governance. “This expansion brings together a level of experience and depth of knowledge well suited to creating innovative and effective solutions for a broad range of companies and industries. We know that while companies want their advisors to be independent of conflicts of interest, they also want the expertise and experience that only industry veterans can offer.”
The Pay Governance team currently comprises more than 20 seasoned and highly successful executive compensation consulting professionals representing more than 250 years of industry experience. Its leadership includes partners England, Ira Kay and Richard Meischeid, who were senior leaders in the executive compensation practice of Towers Perrin and Watson Wyatt prior to founding the new company in February.
Since then, the managing partners have continued their long-established relationships as advisors to the boards and compensation committees of a host of Fortune 500 and other domestic and global corporations. They also provide industry leading research and informed perspectives on best practices, emerging trends and critical issues such as regulatory, legislative and accounting changes.
The new expanded team includes partner John Ellerman and consultant Sara Bivins in the Dallas office; partner Eric Marquardt and consultants Nick Dunlap and Matt Arnold in the Saint Louis office; joining Kay in the New York office are partners Diane Lerner, David Fitt and Patrick Haggerty and consultants Brian Johnson, Peter Ringlee, and Orietta Ramirez; partner Aubrey Bout and consultants Brian Lane and Connie Lin in the Boston office; joining England in the St. Petersburg office, consultant Chris Brindisi; and joining Meischeid in the Philadelphia office, Ralph Walter, Peter England and Ashley Meischeid.
By the end of 2010, Pay Governance plans to open offices in additional major U.S. cities and up to 30 new consultants will be invited to join the firm.
“By building a team of experienced industry veterans, we will be able to meet what has proven to be a strong demand for the Pay Governance brand of independent consulting,” said Kay. “Now, more than ever, companies recognize the link between compensation and building a highly motivated executive team. Crafting executive pay packages requires extensive knowledge and experience, along with access to the industry-specific benchmarking data and research that we can offer.”
Pay Governance’s variety of services include compensation plan designs for executives, key employees and directors that encourage and measure performance and are in close alignment with the company’s philosophy, corporate strategy and organization.
“As the availability of data and information through proxy disclosure continues to increase, the experience to translate this information through a client’s perspective becomes more valuable,” said Richard Meischeid. “Pay Governance’s staff is uniquely qualified to counsel boards and committees on the wide range of issues requiring their attention.”
