Michigan Heritage Bancorp, Inc. to Consolidate Livonia Branch With Novi and Farmington Hills Branches
FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., April 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Michigan Heritage Bancorp, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: MHBC), the holding company for Michigan Heritage Bank, today announced that it will consolidate the accounts and business activities from its Livonia branch office with its nearby branch offices in Farmington Hills, and Novi, Michigan. The consolidation, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed by July 18, 2008.
The Livonia branch is at 18770 Farmington Road. The Farmington Hills branch is at 28300 Orchard Lake Road. The Novi branch is at 21211 Haggerty Road.
Branch management will move to nearby branches. Tricia Winborn will move to the Farmington Hills branch as Branch Manager, and Renee Barron will move to the Novi branch as a Customer Service Representative.
Raymond A. Biggs, President and CEO, said, "The basic reason for the branch consolidation is our inability to serve customers because of a lack of easy, convenient access to the Livonia branch. Local zoning codes and prohibitively high construction costs prevent us from adding a drive-thru window or a drive-up ATM at this site. These two services are essential in today's highly competitive banking environment and without them we are simply unable to properly serve our customers."
He added," Livonia is a great market and we have literally hundreds of wonderful customers -- both commercial and individual consumers who bank with us. Therefore, we are genuinely disappointed that this branch consolidation is necessary. We continue to look for a new, suitable Livonia site that has all of the elements that our customers need and deserve."
Customers of the Livonia branch will receive detailed information on transferring accounts to one of the other branches. Customers with immediate questions are encouraged to call the Livonia branch at 248 442-9650.
Michigan Heritage operates from branch offices in Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi, Troy and Wixom. Michigan Heritage Bancorp stock trades on the over-the-counter (OTC) market and quotations are reported on the OTC Bulletin Board under the symbol "MHBC".
