JMP Group Appoints Samir Hussein as Head of Internet and Digital Media Investment Banking

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JMP Group Inc. (NYSE: JMP), an investment banking and alternative asset management firm, announced today that Samir H. Hussein has joined JMP Securities, JMP Group’s broker-dealer subsidiary, as a managing director and head of Internet and digital media investment banking. Mr. Hussein is based in the firm’s New York office.

Prior to joining JMP Securities, Mr. Hussein was a managing director in the investment banking department and a member of the media and telecommunications group at Deutsche Bank Securities. He was previously a principal in the mergers and acquisitions department at Banc of America Securities, where he also focused on the media, digital media and telecommunications industries. Additionally, Mr. Hussein has served in Morgan Stanley’s media and communications investment banking group and in Salomon Smith Barney’s technology investment banking group. He began his career as a corporate attorney engaged in transactional law at Shearman & Sterling. Mr. Hussein holds a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law and joint B.S. and B.A. degrees from Boston University.
