Jason D. Schrotberger Promoted to Lead Portfolio Manager of the Turner SMID Growth Equity Institutional Portfolios

Nine-year veteran becomes sixth Turner Investment Partners portfolio manager to head a growth-stock portfolio

BERWYN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Jason D. Schrotberger has been named the lead portfolio manager of the Turner SMID Growth Equity institutional portfolios, which hold a mix of small- and mid-capitalization growth stocks, at Turner Investment Partners (www.turnerinvestments.com).

With this appointment, Mr. Schrotberger, 39, has been promoted from portfolio manager/security analyst to senior portfolio manager/security analyst on Turner’s Growth Investing Team of 21 investment professionals. He succeeds William C. McVail, senior portfolio manager/security analyst, as the lead portfolio manager for SMID Growth Equity.

Mr. Schrotberger becomes the sixth lead portfolio manager on the Growth Investing Team. The others are Robert E. Turner, chairman and chief investment officer; Mark D. Turner, president and senior portfolio manager/security analyst; Christopher K. McHugh, vice chairman and senior portfolio manager/security analyst; and two senior portfolio managers/security analysts, Mr. McVail and Frank L. Sustersic.

According to Robert E. Turner, Mr. Schrotberger’s appointment reflects the firm’s resolve to spread responsibility for portfolio management throughout the Growth Investing Team and to provide team members with opportunities for advancement.

Turner, an employee-owned investment firm, manages more than $18 billion in stocks in growth, global/international, core, value, quantitative, and alternative portfolios on behalf of institutions and individuals, as of March 31, 2010.

Mr. Schrotberger had served as a comanager of the SMID Growth Equity portfolios since its inception in 2004. Working with him as comanagers of SMID Growth Equity are Mr. McVail and Rick Wetmore, portfolio manager/security analyst.

SMID Growth Equity, which held $273 million in assets as of March 31, 2010, generally owns stocks of companies with a higher rate of earnings growth than that of the average company in its benchmark, the Russell 2500 Growth Index. SMID Growth Equity typically holds about 70 small- and mid-cap stocks, with a weighted average market capitalization of about $2.8 billion.

Mr. Schrotberger joined Turner in 2001 and is a principal of the firm. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia.

A resident of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, he earned a bachelor of arts degree at Denison University in 1992 and an MBA degree at the University of Illinois in 1994.
