Funds To Be Used for Financial Empowerment Summit and Housing Counseling

What:

Fifth Third Bank will present a $40,000 check to the Central Florida Urban League – a social service organization that empowers the underserved community to succeed socially, professionally and economically. The donation will be used to host a Financial Empowerment Summit and a housing counseling program on January 28, 2012, for first-time homebuyers, small business owners and low- to moderate-income families.

The contribution was made as part of Fifth Third Bank's Enterprise Investment Fund (EIF), which empowers affiliates to delegate funding to local organizations that address urgent needs in the community. The Urban League was selected to receive the Central Florida affiliate's contribution based on its mission and the population it serves, which aligns with the goal of the EIF – to benefit low- and moderate-income individuals and geographies with the primary purpose of community development.
