Crédit Agricole CIB Names Jean-François Deroche to Dual Head Posts as Senior Regional Officer for Americas Region and US S
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Crédit Agricole Group’s corporate and investment banking arm, has announced the appointment of Jean-François Deroche as Senior Regional Officer for the Americas Region and US Senior Country Officer. He is based in New York City.
Mr. Deroche succeeds, and will report to, Thierry Simon, who has been named Head of Coverage and Investment Banking as well as a member of the bank’s Executive Committee. Mr. Simon is now headquartered in Paris, France.

Mr. Simon, prior to his current appointment in Paris, has been with Credit Agricole CIB in New York since 2008, first as deputy CEO and then CEO of Calyon Americas, predecessor to Credit Agricole CIB. Starting in 1985 he held various positions within Credit Lyonnais international network, notably in the United Kingdom and Denmark, before becoming Head of the Special Corporate Branch in Paris. He then was named Head of Financial Institutions and in 2004 was promoted to Global Head of Real Estate and Hotels within the Structured Finance Division of Calyon, his last post in Paris before heading to the US.
Mr. Simon holds a degree from the Ecole Central de Lille, and an Executive MBA from HEC/CPA in Paris.
Since joining in 1982 what was then Crédit Lyonnais, acquired by Crédit Agricole in 2004, Mr. Deroche has served in a number of key management positions. He started in France then worked in New York and Boston until 1990. Back in France in 1989, he joined the Investment Bank of the group, Clinvest until 1992, when he was appointed Head of Investment Banking and Marketing Division for Crédit Lyonnais Securities Japan. He then headed up the Counterparty Risk Department for Capital Markets as of 1996. From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Deroche was Head of Crédit Lyonnais Securities Japan in Tokyo and Head of Capital Markets Japan.
Mr. Deroche returned to Paris in 2001, where for the next three years he served as Global Head of Debt Capital Markets, thereafter becoming a member of the DMC Management Committee at Crédit Agricole CIB. In 2005 he was appointed Chief Administrative Officer for Markets and Brokers. Most recently, he was Head of Fixed Income Markets for the Americas region, a position he assumed in 2007.
Mr. Deroche is a graduate of the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (IEP). He holds a law degree.
