CFSI to Ring the Closing Bell at the NYSE to Celebrate Financial Literacy Week
Financial Capability Innovation Fund Grantees and Funders to join CFSI’s Jennifer Tescher and Sarah Gordon on the bell podium
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- To celebrate Financial Literacy Week (April 11-15), Jennifer Tescher, CFSI President & CEO, and Sarah Gordon, CFSI Director, Advisory Services & Nonprofit Investments will ring the Closing Bell at the NYSE today. They will be joined by the grantees and funders of CFSI’s Financial Capability Innovation Fund, which supports initiatives that provide Americans access to the financial products and educational tools they need to change their lives.
“We are incredibly honored to ring the Closing Bell with our Financial Capability Innovation Fund grantees,” said Tescher. “We want to thank the New York Stock Exchange for this opportunity to raise awareness about the innovative projects of our grantees and the importance of financial capability for low income Americans.”
CFSI’s Financial Capability Innovation Fund provides $1.5 million to five promising nonprofit-led projects designed to help consumers better manage their finances and achieve financial prosperity. The grantees are: Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Delaware Valley; Co-opportunity, Inc.; Filene Research Institute; Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union/Grow Brooklyn with Piggymojo; and Mission Asset Fund. These projects leverage technology, apply behavioral economics concepts such as social commitments and defaults, and more closely link education to financial projects to spur behavior changes in addition to knowledge gains. A collaborative of funders led by the Citi Foundation and also including Bank of America, Capital One, Morgan Stanley, Experian, U.S. Bank and Visa Inc. helped launch the Financial Capability Innovation Fund.
