NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Communications Equity Associates (“CEA”) announced today that it successfully completed an advisory assignment related to the sale of Platinum Equity’s portfolio company AEES, a global manufacturer of wire harnesses and cabling solutions. AEES was sold to PKC Group (PKC) of Finland.

AEES is a leading manufacturer of cable harnesses, primarily for the automotive sector, with operations in the US, Ireland, Brazil and Mexico. Platinum Equity, a leading US-based private equity firm with global operations, acquired the company in 2008 and, following a comprehensive restructuring, divested the business to PKC in a transaction that closed on October 1, 2011.

Headquartered in Finland, PKC offers design and contract manufacturing services for wiring harnesses, cabling and electronics. PKC owns manufacturing facilities in Finland, Brazil, China, Estonia, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Russia and the US. PKC is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Helsinki Stock Exchange.

Waldo Glasman, Managing Director of CEA’s Latin America corporate finance advisory group, advised Platinum Equity on the sale of AEES’s Brazilian subsidiary to PKC. Mr. Glasman is based in CEA’s New York office.
