Warren Buffett, chairman of Business Wire’s parent company, Berkshire Hathaway will join Business Wire Chief Executive Officer Cathy Baron Tamraz at the storied Wall Street podium of the New York Stock Exchange at 9:30 AM EDT to ring The Opening BellSM and usher in the Company’s next 50 years of success.

"We are very appreciative that Mayor Bloomberg has honored Business Wire with an official proclamation marking our Golden Anniversary," said Tamraz. "We take pride in knowing that Business Wire has been recognized with proclamations by the mayors in many of the markets we conduct business. It is truly an historic moment for our company."

The proclamation from Bloomberg states in part:

`Throughout our history, New York City has been proud to be an engine for economic growth worldwide. Even during these challenging times, more and more companies are locating or expanding here, including firms focused on international business and financial reporting. Of course, in a former life, I was one such small business owner, and I am proud to say New York’s future looks brighter than ever thanks to its status as a leader in the financial news industry. That is why we are honored to join Business Wire in celebrating its 50th Anniversary.’

Today, the office boasts a full-service sales and newsroom team, media relations specialists and technology help desk. In addition to Tamraz, many of the top decision-makers call Business Wire’s New York office home, including President Gregg Castano, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Phyllis Dantuono, Senior Vice President, Financial Product Strategy Michael Becker, Senior Vice President, Business Policies and Procedures Richard DeLeo and Senior Vice President, Global Media Neil Hershberg.
