Alexandra & James Co., LLC Announces Hiring of Tara Gauthier as Portfolio Manager/Relationship Manager

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As part of its continued growth Alexandra & James Co., LLC has announced the hiring of Tara Gauthier, a seasoned wealth management professional as portfolio manager/relationship manager reporting to Michelle Smith, Co- Founder and Director of Alexandra & James Wealth Management.

Ms. Gauthier will be responsible for working with high net worth individuals in an effort to help clients reach their financial goals. Ms. Gauthier will work closely with Ms. Smith to assist in oversight of the firm’s growing list of clients. Additionally she will conduct research on investment ideas and is a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Ms. Gauthier has over fifteen years of investment experience. Previously, she was a portfolio manager at US Trust Company where she managed portfolios for high net worth individuals. In addition to her time at US Trust, where she worked since 1998, Ms. Gauthier began her career at Harvard Management Company, the subsidiary of Harvard University which manages the endowment. She is a graduate of Boston University’s School of Management where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration focusing on International Management.

Alexandra & James was formed in 2007 by Michelle Smith and Alexandra Lebenthal as a multi family office to serve the needs of the $5 million -$40 million family. The firm was created after the sale of Lebenthal & Company, a well known municipal bond specialist founded by Louis and Sayra Lebenthal in 1925. Alexandra Lebenthal is a well known Wall Street authority. Michelle Smith has been named to the 50 Women in Wealth Management for the last two years.
