And the top prime broker is...

Alpha magazine has named Morgan Stanley the top prime broker for the third straight year. Congrats! There were not a lot of surprises in the 2007 list. Goldman Sachs and Bank of America remained Nos. 2 and 3. Citigroup perhaps made the biggest move. It rose four places to No. 4, notes an article on Institutional Investor's website. Morgan Stanley won in nearly every category. It came in second in securities lending, an area in which Citigroup excels. It took top honors. So what to expect for next year? Well, the upheaval in the hedge fund industry could lead to some changes. Some think that Bear Stearns, which rose three spots to No. 6, is primed for a fall. We'll see.
