Citigroup sued for gender discrimination

We've seen a spate of discrimination suits recently, pitting female employees against big name banks. The most recent: Dorly Hazan-Amir has sued Citigroup (NYSE: C) for a host of wrongs, including demoting her to a lower position after she returned from maternity leave and reduced pay compared to male colleagues.

But while recent suits--including one by three female advisors against Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) and the "mommy track" lawsuit against Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS)--were more about pay and promotion, this suit also features some unsavory allegations about boorish behavior, which some of you might have hoped was a thing of the past.

Among the allegations: When she was due to meet with a client with a beard, a director said: "You Jewish gals get hot for guys with beards, don't you?" The same director allegedly made sexually explicit references about her in front of others, notes the Telegraph. She also became the butt of cruel jokes after she became pregnant. If true, this is troubling stuff that the bank really ought to crack down on.
