Favorable report card for Vikram Pandit?

Recall that as the terms of Citi's (C) bailout required that the firm hired an outside company to evaluate management. Egon Zehnder's report on Vikram Pandit is finished and is now "with the board." CNBC's Charlie Gasparino says that his sources tell him that the report reflects well on Pandit, though no details have been made public.

Reuters, however, reports that the evaluation was less favorable about two executives, Vice Chairman Lewis Kaden and Chief Administrative Officer Don Callahan. The board really ought to release the report as soon as it concludes its review. There may be some more executive shuffling in the works.

As for Pandit, he may be breathing a sigh of relief, but it may not be enough to guarantee his longevity, but you have to give him credit for lasting a lot longer than people thought.
