Bill Miller's streak to finally end?

Recall that last year Bill Miller took it down to the wire; a late rally helped him beat the Standard & Poor's 500 for the 15th year in a row. 15th! Is the manager of the Legg Mason Value fund in for another 11th hour comeback? Not likely. As of the end of October, he is trailing the index by more than 10 percentage points. It's not likely he can make that up. So the streak seems over. But what a streak it was. He deserves a lot of credit for sticking to his guns, even when that meant roaming far from the comfortable indexes. Now, 36 of Legg Mason Value's 44 holdings are in the S&P, but those stocks account for less than 20 percent of the index, according to Morningstar. None of this means that Miller can resume his streak next year. But none of this means he can't either.
