No Club Fed for Madoff

If you think Bernard Madoff will while away his hours at Club Fed, forget it. Given the length of this term and the severity of his crimes,  he's going to prison, not a minimum security camp--which is safer and has fewer restrictions. According to the AP, experts believe he'll most likely be incarcerated in a medium-security prison. In such prisons, prisoners are fenced in by a double-layered razor-wire perimeter with electronic detection systems.

According to CNNMoney.com, inmates "are subject to cell searches and pat-downs in the near-constant search for weapons and other contraband. They work menial jobs, often in kitchens or laundry rooms, where they are paid 12 to 40 cents an hour." Unfortunately, violence is an issue. There may be those who want to mess with him for whatever reason--money, thrills. He can request protective security at any time. Some think he may be sent to a prison near his home in Manhattan.
