A just sentence for Madoff?

Bernard Madoff will not be sentenced until June 16. But there are plenty of people who are willing to voice what they consider just punishment. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel, who saw his life savings vanish, told the New York Times that he thinks Madoff should sit in solitary confinement and be forced to watch a looping video of his victims for five years. A lot of victims would like a few hours alone with him for some personal justice.

Life in prison may be difficult. Bloomberg says he "may have to fight off prison inmates who want to squeeze him for money or blame him for the Wall Street crash." And Business Week notes the days of Club Fed are over. "Madoff is likely to end up in a medium-security prison. That's more restrictive and regimented than a minimum-security or low-security prison." Then again, it's not a hard-core max-security prison either.
