Big announcement coming today--or tomorrow?

The Treasury's Tim Geithner was scheduled to provide details of the new bank bailout plan today. But it may get pushed back to Tuesday to allow Geithner to work on the stimulus package. Geithner is currently scheduled to appear in front of the Senate Banking Committee Tuesday morning to discuss the new plan.

For all the speculation, no one is exactly clear on what the new bank bailout plan will entail. CNNmoney.com lists a few of the possibilities, all of which have been discussed recently: A bad bank, a plan to insure losses on troubled assets, TALF-like lending to more private investors to buy assets, debt-equity swaps, more outright capital injected into banks and mortgage loss programs. The world awaits.
