Boutique offerings hit speed bump
Not too long ago, financial boutiques were all the rage. With the overall market a bit more turbulent, the bloom is off the rose. Brokerage firm Ryan Beck has apparently put its initial public offering on hold, just a week after Cowen Group debuted top iffy results. You have to wonder about plans for Evercore Partners and Keefe Bruyette & Woods. There is still a lot for any would-be issuer. Of course, strong fundamentals will only help.
