Wells Fargo earns praise from pundit

Well, the PR guys can't take credit for this one. But you could definitely call it earned media. Fortune pundit Adam Lashinsky writes that he is a "loyal Wells Fargo banking customer." That's good media right there. He goes on to note that he inquired about some home loans not too long ago and felt the bank was noncompetitive for certain loans--which he thinks was a good thing. He lauds the bank for staying out of the "stated income" loan game, which has come to haunt the many banks that embraced the idea. The bank may have lost some market share but it picked up an influential fan and has seen its share price hold up reasonably well.
